What era are we talking about for the Federation? Original series, TNG, DS9, or Enterprise (didn’t include Voyager since I wouldn’t be a Starfleet member, so doubtful I would ever leave the Alpha Quadrant).

If I had a choice I would prefer to live in the Federation during the Original Series. Maybe even during the years between that and TNG. I wouldn’t want to live during the end years of TNG or DS9 because of all the problems with the Borg and the Dominion. I’m partial to the peace and tranquility that existed for the most part during the years of OS and early TNG.
